Recycling -
Chemicals & Noble Metals

The recovery of precious metals is one of the core competencies of Johnson Matthey.

Generally, we recycle the metals by taking back production scrap or used components and equipment and generate new products from them. Of course we also offer attractive purchasing prices.

We are specialists in the downstream processing of platinum group metals, silver and gold in metallic form. We also treat residues that contain low contents of precious metals, such as used catalysts or coated parts.

We can also handle electroplating baths. On economic grounds, however, we always recommend the deposition of the metals onto foam cathodes.

Particularly with highly challenging processes, such as the refining of rhodium and ruthenium, we offer high recovery rates at moderate conditions.

We use the latest technological standards for an environmentally compatible recovery of your precious metals.

If required we can also return your precious metal in a tradable form.

The above list of recyclable waste that we receive and process is not exhaustive. On request, we will gladly examine the possibility to process precious metal-containing raw materials not listed above.

All delivered materials must be free of other substances, such as cadmium, mercury and/or arsenic.

PLEASE NOTE:

Prior to delivering the recyclable waste, clients shall undertake to inform Johnson Matthey & Brandenberger AG of all information concerning possible contamination with disallowed substances.
