Johnson Matthey is one of the world-leading manufacturers of precious metal powders. Our products are generally produced by wet chemical processes. In these production processes the slightest deviations in the precipitation conditions already influence the morphology of the powder. High batch to batch consistency can only be achieved by strictly monitoring and maintaining all process parameters, which are required, amongst others, for the production of sensors.

For the production of additives and for the MIM processes, in which spherical powders are required, we offer gas atomisation of metals and alloys. The particle size distribution of these powders ranges between 10-200 micrometres. Our process enables the D90 value to be reduced to 20 micrometres. All precious metals and their alloys can be processed. For lower-melting metals we can already supply quantities of as little as 100-200 grams.
